Money, equipment, time, skills or one introduction. SAWB turns it into gear, clinics and local coaches who keep programs running all year — not one-off trips.
Your gift is tax-deductible.
What we do
Talent is everywhere; equipment and programs are not. SAWB works with host communities, clubs and schools to close that gap.
01
Local coaches and organizers lead programs in their own communities, year-round.
02
Gloves, bats, balls, kits and shoes collected from teams and schools — or bought where a gap remains.
03
Skills clinics, leagues and practices run with local coaches, supported by student athlete volunteers.
04
Children's clothing, school support and community projects chosen with local partners.
What can I give?
Find the one that sounds like you. Every one of them moves a project forward.
Money
Fund the people and resources that make projects possible — equipment, shipping, clinics, and the local organizers who lead and sustain programs year-round.
Time
Volunteer from home year-round, or join a service project when one is planned. Time is worth as much as money to us, and there is work for people who can only give an evening.
Equipment
Collect or donate usable sports gear. Gloves, balls, cleats, kits and children's clothing are carried by volunteers and handed over in person.
Skills
You may already have exactly what a project needs. Coaching, Spanish or another language, logistics, photography, fundraising, bookkeeping, design, organizing.
Network
An introduction can be worth more than a check. Ask a school, team, business or community group to help, or connect us with someone who can.
Sponsorship
Have the means but not the time? Send someone who has both the time and the skills. Your gift can put a volunteer on a project, or support a local leader running programs year-round.
Not sure which one fits? Tell us what you have and a volunteer will help you find the right place for it.
Where your support goes
SAWB is a registered 501(c)(3) and volunteer-run: no salaries, no office. Gifts go out in this order — local leadership first, occasional travel last.
01
Trusted local leaders, compensated appropriately for their own economy, who identify needs, run activities and keep programs going all year.
02
Gloves, balls, bats, kits, cleats and shoes — collected where we can, purchased where a program still has a gap.
03
The ordinary costs of play: field and gym time, referees, league and clinic materials, and the small things a season needs.
04
Collection, storage, baggage, shipping and customs, so donated equipment actually reaches the athletes using it.
05
Occasional SAWB travel when hands-on clinics, a delivery or a specific project genuinely calls for people on site — never as the default.
How we work
We keep our own travel limited. Trips matter for hands-on clinics and equipment deliveries, but a trip isn't how we measure impact.
Wherever we can, funding goes to local people instead of airfare. The coaches and organizers we work with know which clubs and families need what. They hand out the gear, run the leagues and clinics, and are still there after we leave. They're paid for that work, at a rate that makes sense where they live — as colleagues, not beneficiaries.
That's the real return on a donation: sport that keeps happening all year, because the people running it live there.

01
We put as much funding as we can behind trusted local coaches and organizers, compensated appropriately for their own economy, so the work is led by people with local knowledge who are there year-round.
02
We keep our own trips deliberately limited and reserved for hands-on clinics, deliveries and specific projects. Funding local partners is usually the more effective and more sustainable use of a gift.
03
A gift can cover a volunteer's costs so someone with time, coaching ability or language skills can join a project they otherwise could not afford.
04
Equipment is only useful once it arrives. Funds cover collection, baggage, shipping and customs so donated gear reaches the field.
05
Leagues, clinics and practices continue between SAWB visits, because local partners are there running them.
06
Steady support lets us commit to a community before every dollar is raised, plan further ahead, and keep supporting a community rather than visiting it once.
